Welcome to the Studio
Koruthallia Fiber Arts and Textiles was born after a year spent studying traditional handcrafts in Rissa, Norway. It is rooted in the Scandinavian traditions of weaving and knitting and draws inspiration from many eras and aesthetics throughout history, as well as the clean and modern ideal of a stylish home.
Koruthallia seeks to serve the customer who sees the beauty in historical textiles, whether that person is a dedicated reenactor on the SCA, Renaissance Faire, and festival circuit who is looking for some handwoven textiles for a kirtle; or someone who appreciates a good diamond twill pattern in their sustainably made home linens.
Koruthallia is your grandmother's knitting. It is rooted in the traditions of women who clothed fishermen, sugarcane field workers, and farmers. Just because grandma didn't have multichrome eyelash yarn and ergonomic needles doesn't mean she didn't create beautiful, cherished items. We seek to honor the millennia of women who walked this earth before us while bringing their designs into modern life.
